Ik ben Luc Joosten, 25 jaar en woon in Leiden. Ik heb onlangs de Research Master Classics & Ancient Civilizations afgerond in Amsterdam en ben sinds kort begonnen als leraar Grieks en Latijn bij mijn oude middelbare school in Zaandam. Tijdens mijn studie heb ik geleerd hoe leuk en waardevol het is om kennis over de klassieke oudheid te vergaren en te delen. Voor mij is dat proces begonnen op de middelbare school en als docent heb ik nu de mogelijkheid om diezelfde passie aan te wakkeren bij mijn leerlingen. Als onderzoeksassistent bij het project van Europa Ciceroniana hoop ik bij te dragen aan het besef dat de klassieke oudheid ons nog steeds veel te bieden heeft.

My name is Luc Joosten, I am 25 years old and I live in Leiden. I have recently completed my Research Master's Degree in Classics & Ancient Civilizations in Amsterdam and have now started working as a teacher of Latin and Greek at my old secondary school. During my education I experienced how valuable it is to learn about the ancient world and share that knowledge. For me, this process started at the secondary school level, and as a teacher I now have the opportunity to kindle that same enthousiasm in my students. As research assistant for the Europa Ciceroniana project, I hope to contribute to the idea that the ancient world still has much to offer to us.
